After working in the television department for CAA, Sports-Talent Powerhouse Nick Khan has decided to join the WWE. His success with the company’s domestic media rights agreements reportedly won him over. One of his latest deals was for 3.6 times as much money as any of the company’s previous agreements.
Tony Khan
Khan, who formerly represented professional basketball and tennis players and is now a senior executive with WWE, is a former attorney who transitioned to sports management at ICM in 2006. There he launched the Sports Media division and represented some of the biggest names in sports broadcasting. After leaving ICM, Khan joined CAA in 2012 and became Co-Head of the company’s television department. He has worked on media-rights deals for WWE, the Southeastern Conference, and Top Rank Boxing.
Khan’s family has ties to WWE, but he is not related to the CEO Vince McMahon. The company’s headquarters is in Stamford, Connecticut, a few hundred miles north of AEW’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida. Khan will be responsible for reviving the company’s popularity and fighting the competition from AEW.
Khan is the son of Tony Khan, who owns several sports franchises. A lifelong pro-wrestling fan Khan is the creative force behind the budding brand. In addition to his work on AEW, Khan will work closely with WWE to expand its business efforts.
Khan is a sports-talent powerhouse. His roster includes former professional athletes, journalists, and broadcasters. During his time at CAA, Khan was considered one of the most powerful sports-media agents. During WrestleMania 30, Khan proposed a match between Tebow and Big Show.
Khan’s deal with WWE is worth $1 billion over five years. The deal will run through the fourth quarter of 2026. Then, Khan will transition to working for the WWE Network. The deal with NBCUniversal also includes a documentary about McMahon that will be on Netflix. The network will also be available on Spotify and will be part of the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami in July 2021.

Shad Khan
Nick Khan has made a huge move from CAA to the WWE. The sports-talent powerhouse will join the company in August 2020 after serving as co-head of the firm’s television department. During his time at CAA, Khan secured new deals for the WWE with the SEC, Top Rank Boxing, and Fox Sports. In addition to these new deals, Khan also secured new deals for the WWE’s popular on-air shows, including Smackdown and Raw.

Nick Khan will work under the World Wrestling Entertainment brand, replacing AEW in the U.S. market. The two companies have been in a relationship for over three years, but it took a few years before the two companies decided to work together. In addition to Tony Conn, Nick Khan also had his eye on the relationship. If the move works out, WWE would replace AEW as its exclusive U.S. business partner.
AEW CEO Megha Parekh has confirmed the two companies met, but AEW has not said which talent was contacted by which company. Parekh also wrote to Khan’s former colleagues at WWE before the meeting, warning them to be careful when approaching potential talent.

Nick Khan’s involvement with AEW
WWE executives have not been too concerned with Nick Khan’s involvement in AEW. Khan has said he is only concerned about growing WWE revenue. He was warned by WWE employees about AEW before joining the company. WWE executives have reportedly discussed the rivalry between the two companies.
Khan is a successful businessman who is involved with the WWE and the Jaguars of the NFL. He is also a co-owner of the English soccer club Fulham FC. His father, Shahid Khan, is a billionaire in the auto industry. He has held various management positions in NFL teams and Fulham FC. He also created the Jaguars Football Technology and the Analytics department. The father of Jack Perry has also invested in AEW, a direct competitor to WWE.
